Dr. Vilma Quintana, D.M.D.
Dr. Quintana’s primary goal as a dental professional is to provide our patients with a full array of dental services and individualized care. Patients can expect personalized one-on-one treatment from Dr. Quintana and her staff. We strive to not only to help our patients but forge a long-lasting relationship.
Over 30 years of Experience in Dentistry
Dr. Quintana earned her foreign dental degree and completed her post-doctoral certification in biochemistry from the Higher Institute of Medical Sciences of Villa Clara in Santa Clara, Cuba in 1986 and 1990, respectively. In 2010, Dr. Quintana earned the degree of Doctor of Dental Medicine from Nova Southeastern University in Davie, Florida.
Dr. Quintana worked as a dentist at the university clinic in Santa Clara while completing her post-doctoral certification and subsequently became a senior biochemistry professor (1990-1994) at the Higher Institute of Medical Sciences of Villa Clara. She published several papers in the field of biochemistry, including one in the Journal of the American Medical Association.
Professional Career
Dr. Quintana came to the United States with her young son in 1995 and settled in Miami-Dade County. She worked as a dental assistant from 1995 to 2002 in Miami, Florida and Phoenix, Arizona. From 2002 to 2007, Dr. Quintana worked as a dental hygienist in Pembroke Pines, Florida and subsequently entered Nova Southeastern University to complete her U.S. dental degree.
Normandy Dental Office
Following her graduation, Dr. Quintana opened her own dental practice in the Normandy Isle neighborhood of Miami Beach. Her vast range of experiences, both academic and professional, in the field of dentistry provides her with skills few dental professionals are able to claim. In her spare time, Dr. Quintana enjoys going to the beach, reading, watching movies, and spending time with friends and family.
